Arrow Building Center (Arrow), a division of American Construction Source (ACS), is looking to add to their Finance Team at their headquarters in Stillwater, MN. The Staff Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate processing of tasks within the Accounting Department. They must communicate with their peers within the department to assure that all transactions flow through the system with accuracy to create GAAP financial statements

The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Process Customer Refund requests daily through A/P making sure to verify that the amount of the credit can be justified through prior invoices or transactions.
  • Assist in generating monthly customer statements and follow-up on any returned statements.
  • Monitor Pre-Paid and Accrual G\L accounts and prepare journal entries as needed
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for allocation of general expenses to departments as assigned.
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as assigned.
  • Maintain the corporate credit card program for purchases and prepare the monthly G/L entry for these transactions.
  • Maintain the vendor setup and credit application process
  • Maintain 1099 information on vendors and assist in the YE production of 1099’s
  • Maintain the Outstanding Check registers
  • Assist in internal audit testing of transactions
  • Assist in responding to audit selections and questions as assigned.
  • Assist in responding to Help Desk calls on general accounting and system questions

Requires:

  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting practices through General Ledger Reconciliation
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office products and POS software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Education:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting or an Associates Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years General Accounting experience.
